Water collaboration

Our university collaborates with local communities, national organizations about water security. We have  Memorandums of Understanding with the organizations as follows;
1.National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT)
2.Dow Family Thailand Co., Ltd.
3.Kasetsart University
4.Koh Kok Community / Wang Wa Community

National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) collaborated with RMUTT to adjust the stability of the RamaIX reservoir sustainable flood solution

NRCT funded the research project “Improving stability in the Royal Initiative of His Majesty the King under the condition of a rapid drop in water level due to drought”

Asst.Prof.Dr.Veerasak Laoongchan, RMUTT lecturer studies stability and movement of river banks underwater level changes. As well as, improve the slopes of the Rama IX reservoir to retain water during the drought and alleviate flood problems in the lower areas.

NRCT support and implement research and innovation projects to provide research for analysis about causes and find problem-solution that occur in the areas. Granting funds to support research is a part of helping to alleviate flooding, drought problems, and concern about people’s safety. Said, Dr.Vibharat Deeong, National Research Council of Thailand Director.

Asst.Prof.Dr.Veerasak Laoongchan revealed that the researchers’ studies result found that controlling the water level of the Rama IX water reservoir is necessary to be at a level not lower than -2.00 meters above the mean sea level because if the water level drops below -2.00 meters, it will cause erosion of the high-slope banks.
